Rosehip; a shiny
She looks to be bigger than the average Dipplin - if she were appraised, she would be called "a serious big'un".
Now that she's a Dipplin, and thus covered in syrup, Louis's been making her dresses out of waxed cotton to keep her syrup clean and contained.
Like this!
Yes, he'll continue doing that once she's a six foot tall Hydrapple.
Louis doesn't like keeping her in her Pokeball, but when he does, it's notably a Luxury Ball.
Magic Items ⚜️
Nightmare; Louis's precious fiddle, the only thing he owns that he truly cares about. Specifically a fiddle, too - its bridge is flat, not rounded like a violin's. When supplied with magic, it's able to grow and reshape itself into a cello or double bass; however, this specifically uses Louis's internal magic to do, and thus wears him out a little each time. When plucked pizzicato while cello-sized, it sounds harp-like.
It's magic, so it doesn't need much of a resonating chamber. It's able to be hooked up to amps and pedals, as well.
Decorated with a shard of the Orange prism, though everyone just thinks its a shard of amber - not even Louis nor the luthier who made it for him know its true nature. Thanks to this, it's able to have very minor hypnotic effects on those who listen to him play, though it's gentle enough that the average person is able to ignore it without issue - for most, it's felt as "wow, this song's a lot more moving than I thought it'd be".
Image reference! And its bass form!
Cello form looks like the bass, just, y'know, smaller.
Seed Kit; A bundle of ten seed packets from the land of the dead, containing 6 flowers and 4 vegetables. Currently has 5 flower packets and 3 vegetable packets left after giving one of each to Evangeline and Narinder, respectively.
Because Grim Reapers are impatient and don't like working too hard, all plants from the land of the dead are self-pollinating and do not need much help to grow.
Seeds included
FLOWERS:
- Dolls' eyes; a colorful groundcover plant with large, vibrant, daisy-like flowers, they'd be beautiful if not for their buds taking the form of eyeballs - complete with tracking movement and blinking.
- Blooddrops; a lovely red climbing flower with shiny red leaves that always look a little wet, despite never being so. They're dangerous to keep, however, as their sharp little seeds need blood to germinate - and their seed pods are triggered to burst when the plant detects vibration through its roots.
- Fairy roses; small shrubs that don't get very big, so they're perfect as indoor houseplants. Their flowers are glowing and rose-like, containing multiple shades of blues, purples, and pinks on the same bush, but they're very, very small. The pollen glows as well, and often floats around the shrub like fireflies when the plant is going to seed.
- Flybush; a fast-growing shrub with unattractive olive-yellow leaves and strange looking red flowers that are noted for their floral, honey-like scent. The flowers make a very popular perfume base just by being crushed, and they're very popular with insects of all kinds - but especially flies and beetles.
- Leafy paintbrush; a fantastical plant in shades of blue and teal, covered in a soft, silvery dust. The flowers they grow resemble paintbrushes and often let out random "bubbles" of colored light, making them an invaluable resource for Grim Reapers, so they're grown in many places among the major cities in the land of the dead. A flower picked and dried will stop releasing colored bubbles, but can be used as a proper paintbrush for up to three months before it becomes too brittle to continue using.
- Lucklamps; A golden climbing rose with multicolored, glowing centers. Said to be very lucky; when the flowers successfully pollinate, only a couple will go to seed. The rest dry into solid gold. All seeds are currently owned by Evangeline!
VEGGIES:
- Glass tomatoes; fully clear tomatoes that look like bubbles, complete with an iridescent sheen. They have a strong outer coating that needs to be cracked before the tomato can be cooked or eaten, but the shards of the coating make excellent craft materials for things like mosaics. Louis's is an heirloom variety that grow in different colors and patterns.
- Agave salado; a good-sized succulent that looks a bit like a cross between Agave colorata and K. x houghtonii, its leaves are known for their salty and acidic-sour flavor that makes them great as the liquid base in pestos and sauces. Eat too much of them uncooked, however, and you'll end up with a stomach ache... and they're known for being invasive, fast-spreading plants.
- Heartbeet; one of the many "gutplants" from the Desert Diabollik, the heartbeet has the size (and look) (... and taste) of a human heart. Instead of its arteries and veins, though, it branches off into roots and stems, the latter topped with shiny red leaves that look coated in blood. Despite tasting like organ meat, they're 100% plant material. Currently in the care of Narinder!
- Mirror ube; the most popular species of ube in the land of the dead, it's known for not having a single shred of green on the entire plant from tuber to flower. The big, broad leaves are a shiny chrome and reflective, the vines are variegated in shades of red and pink, the drooping, wisteria like flowers are anywhere from pink to red to blue to purple, and the tubers themselves are different shades of red and orange... but with indigo, nebula-like colors on the inside, complete with star-like pinprick lights speckled throughout the tuber's flesh. The lights remain and continue to glow no matter how the ube is prepared, and people have found that peeling the ube, mashing the peels, spreading them thin and drying it out will form a weird, pink, soft fabric with those pinprick lights scattered through out.
Understandably, these are Louis's favorite food.
Genderrings; An AC reward. Allows him to swap his gender when worn. Louis has never really given a shit as to pronouns, so people are free to use whatever they want for him while he's wearing these.
Image ref! For the earrings, I mean. Louis's looks don't change much when wearing these, he literally only got them to fill out his clothes better.
Senbonzakura; An AC reward. When clipped to a weapon and fed magic, it summons a storm of razor sharp flower petals that follow his attacks.
Hammerspace Purse; An AC reward. Allows him to carry up to 99 items, no matter their size.
Image ref!
Unicorn Magic; An AC reward. A tube of lip balm that grants him the powerful healing and purification magic of a unicorn. Also gives him a horn + extra rainbow sheen to his hair.
Tastes like cotton candy.
Enchanted Flower Arrangement; A special flower arrangement that's been enchanted to stay fresh for a very long time, and also acts as a humidifier. Currently kept by his beside because the idiot snores and can use the humidifier thing. Won at the charity auction!
Cursed Magic 8-ball; It wasn't explained how it's cursed, so I'm making this up -
When asked a question and shaken, instead of an answer, it gives random coordinates for somewhere in Ellipsa. The coordinates do not change if it is shaken and the same question is asked; why would it? That's your answer.
Refuses to answer if you ask it for the location of something, however. It only answers normal questions, like "will I fall in love?"
Consolation prize from the charity auction.
Mundane Items ⚙️
Foraging Guide; A foraging guide to the land of the dead, written entirely in Bastard's Enochian. It's completely useless in Ellipsa.
Sewing Kit; A sewing kit, also from the land of the dead. The metal alloy the needles are made of is special in that it cannot erode. Quite a bit more useful in Ellipsa.
Lightup Pen; An LED pen shaped like a lightsaber. Consolation prize from the charity auction.
