Speaking of.

There in her bedroom is a giant metal birdcage, and inside of it is Evangeline. She's transformed herself gorgeous black and red wings, just as promised, and is wearing a red and back dress that trails on the floor behind her like a great tail. (It also barely covers her chest, which was a consideration.)

She'd been hugging herself (Look At Her, She's So Sad), but at his entrance her head lifts and she turns to look at him, wings fluttering. Quiet, but expectant.

A large set of keys is on her nightstand.]

[His eyes are, of course, instantly drawn to her in that dress - holy shit that dress, he's going to need to ask her about it when he gets the chance - but he gazes around the room, and...
Ah.

Those keys get snapped up, and he makes his way over to the cage.]

As always, you look so lovely... perhaps I ought to have more dresses made for you, hm?
So I can dress up my pretty little bird however I'd like?

Hum for me. Ready your voice.

[Evangeline comes closer to him, close enough that he could slip a hand through the bars of the cage and touch her if he wished.

She hums for him, a wordless version of the song she has in mind to sing later. It's much less hesitant than her singing had been in the music club - this is a role she's playing, a game for fun, and that means there's no pressure.]

[And touch her, he will - reaching through the bars so he can stroke his hand over her hair, down to her jaw so he can run his fingers along her chin.
Making her look up at him fully, properly. Keeping his gaze.

And he leans over, looking at her neck as she hums. As if he's trying to make sure his belonging is in top shape.]

[The words make her blush - less the praise for her beauty and voice, though that still does things to her (especially in his voice), and more the claiming.

What would it be like to have someone want her so much they kept her in a cage away from the rest of the world? How would it feel to have someone be obsessed? She doesn't want that for real, but in this moment, she desperately wants to experience being the object of such adoration.

She shivers noticeably under his touch, before stepping back from the door.]

[The keys go in the lock, then, to open the door - and he pockets them quickly afterward, stepping inside and letting the cage lock behind him.
Yes, he's just assuming Chipp made it so it can be unlocked from the inside. Yes, he's also right in this assumption.]
