It’s not really a partner thing. I could also be attacked by strangers just walking down the street at home, which has happened. Having some form of protection in easy reach any time you leave your house is pretty normal in the City.

Ah, so it's paranoia, I see. Well - if it makes you feel any better, I've yet to be frisked, mugged, jumped, or otherwise despite sleeping outdoors.
Most would at least pickpocket me by now, but not even that has occurred yet.

The people here are generally nice with a few exceptions. I know the paranoia isn’t warranted here, but it’s kept me alive this long and it’s pretty well ingrained.

It’s something I’m already working on and making progress on. I don’t insist on wearing outfits with supernatural protection all the time anymore. It’s not going to be 100% fixed overnight and I don’t need you to tell me it’s not healthy.

But it's also very gothic where he could manage it. No real decor yet beyond a few candelabras that he conned out of a shop nearby... but he did control a local Ellipsan into painting everything black for him.
